At gudia, we create lingerie ethically

Our Workers, Our Family: The Heart of Gudia

Our story begins in a family-owned factory in Guangdong, China, where lingerie-making has been our craft for over 30 years. Growing up, Jj was surrounded by rolls of fabric, the hum of sewing machines, and skilled workers pouring care into every piece they made.

Jj’s mother often reminded her: We have to treat our workers well—they’re family. They help us make money and keep the factory running. We should always be grateful.” These words shaped Jj’s understanding of business—not just as a way to make a living but as a way to honor the people who make it all possible.

When Jj started Gudia, she carries that legacy forward with focus on: ethical and sustainable practices. It’s not just about making lingerie; it’s about making it with care—for the people who craft it, the planet we live on, and the women who wear it.

What Ethical Manufacturing Looks Like for gudia

Fair and Safe Workplaces:

Our factory feels like a big family, and many of our team members have been with us for decades. Fair wages, safe working conditions, and a positive environment are non-negotiable for us. For example, the fabric expert (Jj calls him uncle) who works closely with Jj on Gudia’s designs has been part of the factory for over 20 years. His knowledge and dedication are key to our success. The same goes for the person who helps create Gudia’s samples—they’ve been with us for years, a testament to the strong relationships we’ve built.

Choosing Materials with Care:

We carefully select fabrics that are not only soft and comfortable but also eco-friendly. By choosing materials that are durable and gentle on the environment, we’re reducing waste while ensuring that every piece feels amazing to wear.

Craftsmanship Over Mass Production:

Unlike fast fashion brands, we take our time. Every piece is crafted with care, from the stitching to the fit. This attention to detail doesn’t just guarantee quality—it also means less waste and more love poured into each item.

Why It Matters

We believe that how something is made is just as important as the finished product. Ethical practices ensure that the people who make our lingerie are respected and valued. They also mean that you can trust the quality and intention behind every Gudia piece you wear.

When you choose Gudia, you’re not just buying lingerie—you’re supporting thoughtful, mindful production that benefits everyone involved, from our workers to the planet, to you.

Looking Ahead

For us, ethical manufacturing isn’t just a trend—it’s a commitment we’re proud to uphold. Every decision we make, from sourcing materials to crafting each piece, reflects our belief that fashion can and should be done with care.

And as we look to the future, Jj holds close to what her mother taught her all those years ago: to treat the people who help make the dream a reality as family, with gratitude and respect. That’s the heart of Gudia, and it’s what inspires us to keep growing, innovating, and creating with purpose.
